According to my poorly drawn lines following the rule of thirds, the viewers eye is drawn to Anderton and Witwer, with Fletcher in the center. Other than the rule of thirds, the color contrast and lighting amongst the characters draws the viewers eye. To illustrate, Fletcher is nearly blacked out so naturally our eyes gravitate towards the whiteness of Witwer's collared shirt and the relatively paleness of Anderton's skin.
Although Witwer is foregrounded, he appears backgrounded due to the intensity between Anderton and Fletcher. In addition, Witwer was strategically placed in the center of Anderton and Fletcher because he is the mediator and/or common ground between the two other gentlemen. The overall background (the screen used in Pre-crime) hold little significance in the shot, hence why it is the background. The placement of the characters is most important because it illustrates the placement of power amongst the characters.
Witwer is practically blacked out, so he is not spot lighted in this shot. On the contrary, if you look closely: a clear left and right side of the shot exists based off lighting. The right side of the shot where Fletcher stands consists of a portion distinct blackness. This blackness is symbolic in the face-off above, because Fletcher is out to destroy Anderton. While on the left side, Anderton lacks pure blackness and a lighter color spectrum exists. This indicates Anderton's good intentions.
The shot above is a medium close up shot (MCU), seeing as though it portraits the characters from the chest up. By shooting the characters from the chest up in this shot, we can evaluate their posture more thoroughly. It can be noted that neither Anderton nor Fletcher seem cowardly or timid based on their posture.
In terms of props and location, the the setting is rather bleak. The depth of the shot stems from the lighting, color contrast, and placement of characters. On the contrary, the clothing interprets the characters social status. For instance, Fletcher wears a white collared shirt, indicating he is a man of business and that he is rather collegiate. This shot depicts the foreshadowing in reference to the conflict amongst the characters.
